This book tells the story of Klarissa, Larissa, and Melissa, a mother and her two young girls, who care for an injured flamingo that lands in their backyard after being shot while flying over Malta. When the youngest finds the bird, he is enormous, frightened, and in pain. With time and gentle care, the flamingo recovers, and after several weeks, Mingu is ready to fly again. The girls bid him farewell, hoping he will find his way home safely.
